Terms and Conditions for Marton Mere Caravan Rentals

1. Booking and Payment

1.1. A booking is confirmed once the required booking details are provided and payment is made. 1.2. A non-refundable deposit of £100 of the total booking cost is required to secure the booking. 1.3. The balance of the booking cost must be paid no later than 42 days before the arrival date. If the balance is not paid on time, the booking may be cancelled, and the deposit forfeited. 1.4. Bookings made within 42 days of the arrival date are required to make the full payment in advance. 1.5. Your booking will not be confirmed until cleared funds have been received. 1.6 Haven Play Passes are not included within the cost of the accommodation and must be purchased separately. 1.7. If paying by bank transfer, your payment reference must be your surname and holiday booking reference number, or it may not be possible to match payment with your booking, which may result in your holiday being cancelled.

2. Damage & Security Bond

2.1. A security bond is required to cover any damage and/or cleanliness issues of the property. 2.2. The owner will ensure that the caravan is clean and to a high standard on your arrival. Any problems or issues will be rectified in the first instance. 2.3. The bond will be refunded after inspection of the caravan and will be refunded within 2 days after departure, provided no damage or cleanliness issues are found. 2.4. Any damage or cleanliness issues found upon inspection will result in deductions from the bond to cover the costs of repairs or cleaning.

3. Cancellation Policy

3.1. Cancellations made more than 42 days before the arrival date will receive a full refund, minus the non-refundable deposit. 3.2. Cancellations made less than 42 days before the arrival date will not be refunded. 3.3. In the event of a no-show, no refund will be given. 3.4. If the caravan owner is unable to provide the caravan for the required period and is unable to provide an alternative date, a full refund will be given.

4. Check-in and Check-out

4.1. Check-in time is from 2:00 PM on the arrival date. 4.2. Check-out time is no later than 10:00 AM on the departure date. 4.3. Late check-out may be available upon request and subject to availability. Additional charges may apply.

5. Use of the Property

5.1. The property is to be used for holiday purposes only and not for any commercial activities. 5.2. The maximum occupancy of the property must not be exceeded. 5.3. Only the persons named within the booking, or subsequently agreed written amendments, will be entitled to occupy the caravan. 5.4. Guests and any visitors must respect the property and its contents and leave it clean and tidy and in exactly the same condition/standard in which it was hired. 5.5. Smoking is not permitted in the caravan under any circumstances. Not abiding by this will instantly result in eviction and/or loss of deposit. This will also result in extra charges incurred for the full valeting costs of the caravan. 5.6. If security is called to the caravan regarding nuisances, you will automatically forfeit your deposit. 5.7 Electric Vehicles are NOT permitted to be charged using the accommodation’s facilities. Anyone caught doing so will be evicted from the caravan, without compensation. Charging points are available for your use at reception, at a charge 5.8. Failure to adhere to these rules will be deemed as a breach of contract and will result in your eviction.

6. Pets

6.1. Pets are allowed only with prior approval and are subject to additional charges. 6.2. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets and ensuring they do not cause any damage to the property.

7. Liability

7.1. The owner is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by guests or their property during their stay. 7.2. Guests are advised to take out appropriate travel insurance to cover any potential losses.

8. Complaints

8.1. Any complaints regarding the property must be reported to the owner or agent as soon as possible to allow for resolution during the stay. 8.2. Complaints made after the stay will not be considered.

9. Force Majeure

9.1. The owner is not liable for any cancellations or changes to the booking due to events beyond their control, such as natural disasters, pandemics, or government restrictions.

10. Governing Law

10.1. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

11. Travel Insurance

11.1. It is highly recommended that you arrange travel insurance to cover all guests. This will help protect you if you need to cancel your holiday, as no cash refund will be offered if the owner is not responsible for the cancellation and is unable to re-sell it. The owner may, however, agree to move your booking to a different date of the same or lower value, subject to availability.

12. Selling Your Holiday

12.1. You must not under any circumstances sell your holiday to someone else. Only those named on the booking form will be allowed to stay in the caravan. ID will be required on arrival.

13. Arrival and Departure Times

13.1. Your check-in time is 2:00 PM, unless agreed in advance. You can, however, arrive on the park from midday. Passes are to be purchased directly from the park on your arrival. 13.2. Please check the caravan when you arrive. If you find anything wrong, please inform the owner immediately. This will protect you if damages are found after you leave. 13.3. Do not leave later than 10:00 AM, unless agreed in advance. You may lose your deposit if you leave late, as access is required by cleaners to prepare the caravan for the next guests.

14. Cleanliness and Security

14.1. You have a responsibility to leave the caravan exactly as you first find it. Failure to keep the caravan clean and tidy may result in the loss of your deposit. 14.2. Do not remove any property from the caravan (full inventory taken prior to stay) or you will be charged and may face prosecution. 14.3. All doors and windows must be closed when you leave the caravan, and central heating is to be switched off. Failure to do this risks the security of the caravan, and the deposit may be withheld.

15. Feeding Birds

15.1. Do not feed the gulls or other birds on the site (Haven site rules). This is a site rule as feeding birds can be dangerous and creates extra mess on the site, which may be poisonous. Please ensure all rubbish is put in the site bins and not left outside the caravan, as wildlife will destroy it. The park holds each caravan guest accountable and may charge you if a clean-up by site staff is required.

16. Booking Restrictions

16.1. Bookings will only be accepted if the hirer is at least 25 years old (insurance purposes). 16.2. An electoral roll search may be carried out by the owner or agent to confirm identity/address. 16.3. No same-sex groups (e.g., stag and hen parties) are allowed (Haven site rules). Family and friends same-sex groups may be accepted on request. 16.4. No pets of any kind are permitted in the caravan unless accepted by the owner. 16.5. The maximum number of allowed guests may be lower than the maximum berth of the caravan to improve the comfort of the guests. 16.6. Only guests named on the booking form will be allowed in the caravan. Security has the owner’s permission to carry out spot checks at any time during the holiday if any reason for concern has been raised. Unauthorised guests will be evicted, and the remaining guests may also be evicted and forfeit the remainder of their stay, without compensation.

17. Payment Methods

17.1. Accepted payment methods include bank transfer directly to the owner’s account or by debit/credit card directly into the owner’s Haven Ledger account. Specific details will be provided upon request. Always include your surname or reference when making payments.

18. Eviction from the Caravan

18.1. You will be evicted from the caravan by the caravan owner or caravan site management, and your deposit will not be refunded in the event of, but not limited to:

  • Unreasonable behaviour by any of the guests
  • Additional, unregistered guests being found in the caravan
  • Smoking in or damage to the caravan or any of its contents
  • Pets being taken into the caravan
  • Charing electric vehicles from the caravan’s electricity

19. The Caravan Site

19.1. The caravan owner is not responsible for any of the services and facilities provided by the caravan site. The site may vary services and facilities at short notice, all of which are beyond the owner’s control. 19.2. You should visit the website www.haven.com for full site details and their complaints procedures if you have any problems with anything they offer or fail to provide. This includes site-wide power loss, closure of entertainment areas, etc. 19.3. You are also bound by the rules of the caravan site. These can be obtained from their website or from Reception upon arrival. Breaching the site rules may result in eviction from the site and termination of your holiday. 19.4. The caravan owner will not be liable to compensate you in the event of any dispute with the site, unless it has been caused by the action of the caravan owner. 19.5. Any passes purchased remain the property of the site owners, not the caravan owner. Conditions of use of the passes may be changed at any time.

20. Disputes and Harassment

20.1. In the event of disputes, a third party may be consulted in order to resolve matters. 20.2. Repeated or abusive telephone calls, text messages, written correspondence, or other contact will not be tolerated. 20.3. By agreeing to these terms, you will not threaten legal action in the event that the deposit is not returned due to any breach of these rules. Any such action will be considered harassment. 20.4. You will be liable for any additional costs incurred as a result of any breach of these rules.

21. Covid-19

21.1. If the caravan owner cannot honour your holiday due to Covid-19, a full refund will be given. 21.2. If your home area comes into lockdown so that you cannot honour your dates, no refund will be given, but different dates may be offered at a later time (holiday insurance is recommended).
